Cairo: A spokesman for Yemen's Houthi-run Health Ministry said that airstrikes in a town near the Yemani capital of Sanaa on Saturday killed 22 people and wounded 30 others, mostly women and children.

Speaking to The Associated Press, Anees Alasbahi accused Saudi Arabia of carrying out the strikes in the village of al-Shariya.

There was no immediate comment from Saudi Arabia.

The attacks came a day after Houthi officials said 30 people were killed in strikes on a market in southern Yemen. The Iranian-backed Houthis and Yemen's Saudi-backed military each blamed the other for that strike.
